A 15-minute appointment is suitable for most straightforward childhood presentations — such as ear infections, sore throats, skin rashes, coughs and colds, suspected urinary tract infections, or a quick follow-up for a condition your child has already been seen for. If you're coming in because your child has a clear, single symptom that started recently, 15 minutes will give Dr Secretary enough time to assess, advise, and prescribe if needed.

A 30-minute appointment is better if your child has more than one thing to discuss, if the concern is new and you're not sure what's causing it, if it involves development, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing, or if you have questions you'd like to go through properly without feeling rushed. It's also worth choosing 30 minutes if your child is anxious about appointments — the extra time makes a real difference to how settled they feel.

If you're in any doubt, please choose the longer appointment. Dr Secretary can always complete a shorter consultation early, but it's difficult to cover everything if time runs out.
